Prosthetic X is a project by Isaac Monté. I have created the control electronics and mechanics for these prosthetic objects.
Prosthetic X (r)evolves around a platform, an artificial ‘aura’ organ that interferes with our headspace. It will accommodate various prosthetics (plug-ins) that will respond and adapt in real time to our inner health and social interactions.
For Prosthetic X I created for each of the 10 objects an animatronic system that can be wirelessly controlled from a central dispatch unit to run synchronous with a central film. Many techniques were used, like 3D printing, CNC milling, and a lot of control electronics programmed in C++.
